After careful deliberation, I finally decided how to spend some of my Christmas money (thank you, Jody Santa). I ordered a pair of shoes from Sierra Trading Post. It was while I was placing the order that I realized that the only other new pair of shoes I’ve bought for myself in the past five years or so were my Crocs. Gah. That’s a long time for a girl to go without new shoes.
Anyway, they are $80 Mary Jane Tevas that I got for $39.95 (woohoo!) on closeout.
Here they are. Please note that I don’t normally wear my jeans rolled up for the high-water effect. I rolled the legs so I could get a shot of the shoes. ;)

In case you are sitting there saying to yourself – wow, I want those shoes! – I must note that I read some reviews online that they run a full size bigger so I got myself a 9 instead of a 10. I did find that to be true and yes, I do have big feet. I’m still trying to decide if I’m keeping them or not though. The heel part sits a little lower than I’m used to and I don’t know if it will rub and cause a blister if I wear them for any length of time. So for now I’ve been wearing them around the house with the tags still attached (as you see in the pics). I’m such a dork.

Hello Amy!!
First off, you are not a dork! You are simply a smart minded woman who knows about the possible discomfort of shoes. ;) You know at first, I thought those were Ava’s feet. I think it was the rolled up pants. hehehe Then when I read it I was like, “Oh duh!” And, I’d like to add that I, too, got a pair of Crocs this past summer. I LOVE them. I thought I was going to hate them, but I’ve fallen madly in love with them. Anyway…I miss you on blogger already! :) But, I have to say, I really like this layout. I put a little shout out to you in my last post….go see. :) Okay, enough rambling from me. Oh, btw…Did I even say how cute your shoes are? ‘Cuse they are! :)

I like your shoes, but totally understand about them nmaybe not fitting right. I hate spending that much for shoes, only to not LOVE wearing them, and you should love wearing them. I read that CROCS is coming out with a Mary-Jane style, and a heel style- not sure if they are the same shoe though. I love CROCS too. I’ll probably get a new pair this spring. Heather

Those are very cute!
Perhaps sole inserts might help? My mother has used a gel type insert for some of her shoes with fabulous results.

Man, I thought I was the only one who wore a size 10! It makes it so hard to find shoes, doesn’t it? I’ve actually had shoe salesmen laugh at me before, when I told them what size I wore…let’s just say I didn’t purchase from them :) Here’s to big feet!

Cute style for you! Leather shoes for me are tricky because they always give me the worst blisters when I start to wear them. Once the blister phase is overwith, though, they become SOOOO comfortable since it forms so well to the foot. I hope these ones work out for you, and isn’t it fun finding a good deal?
