Recycle birthday, Christmas cards, etc. as gift tags. Cut out the part you want to use (make sure there is no writing on the back), and then reuse these the next time you need a gift tag.

I have always been a fabric and silkish scarf freak, collection them from thrift stores, goodwill, etc. Since I don't really sew or wear more than a couple scarves i love, i wrap gifts in the fabric and scarves. creates more space in my life and maybe someone will wear the scarf or make a little something with the fabric.

peace.

I've made gift tags from cards for years and we get complimented on it every time we use them. I love the wine and dishtowel idea! I'll put that one to good use.

Another idea is to choose paper that is made in an eco-friendly way. At our toy store, koboldtoys.com , we use a wrapping paper that is made in Germany by Disegno, a company that makes a point of preserving the environment.

This company purchases their paper only from pulp suppliers who have wood from FSC or PEFC certified woods (a certificate awarded by an independent organization which guarantees sustainable and controlled forest cultivation.)

And, the paper design and color is one of the most beautiful I have seen in my life. To take a pic, go to www.disegno.de.
