It was all very tragic, as she and her husband were young newlyweds. She contracted a staph infection, and died in the hospital. We reasoned that it was a country hospital in the sticks and she was exposed to unsanitary conditions. I didn't realize it was an epidemic or that there was a nation-wide pattern.
