Hint of spring (BSM 4/14/08)

Spring is finally in the air around here, and we enjoyed a nice weekend. :)

Went to “work day” at Ava’s preschool on Saturday and helped plant flowers and do other yard work before enjoying a potluck lunch. It was more fun than I was expecting and it felt good to get my hands in the dirt.

Sunday was a beautiful day with temps in the 60s and lots of sun. The kids played outside for much of the day. The spring-like weather inspired me to wash the windows on the house and do a little pruning of some of our bushes.

We’re expecting more weather in the 60s and 70s this week and I am thrilled. :)

My best shot for the week is of the lone daffodil in our front yard.

  1. Great photo!

It’s spring over here in Northern California too – so much so, that when we drove to the mountains on the weekend, hoping to enjoy some spring skiing, it turned out that spring skiing was out of the question b/c snow had turned to slush in the heat!

  2. Wow! Love how the daffodil is backlit, making the yellow of the petals really stand out. Please send spring my way, as I’m still wearing my winter coat!

  3. Beautiful shot! Did you have to lay on the ground for that angle? very pretty. I can’t wait for our flowers to bloom.

  4. Love this! We still have our poor daffodils and tulips trying to make their way up to the sky, but it’s 33 degrees right now, and I fear for the flowers’ future.

Hope you have a great week!
