		<description>this is a great post. i do this for mother&#039;s day and for father&#039;s day too. i got the idea from Jewish Women International, which delivers flowers to battered women&#039;s shelters on Mother&#039;s Day. Some years I do their project, some years I choose other charities...I often do it for birthdays too. And if the organization doesn&#039;t have cards (and sometiems if they do, as long as I have  enough time), I make my own cards on Shutterfly with pics of the kids and then I put on the inside of the card information about the charity...it&#039;s a big hit with the parents and others too...Plus, for kids/teens, have you seen charitychecks.us? there&#039;s some great stuff out there...</description>
