Moo, Baa, La La La (Best Shot Monday 5/5/08)

May 4, 2008

On Saturday we packed up the kids, met up with my sister and her beau, and took a trip to our local farm.

We saw…

little piggies,

horses,

and cows.

And then we learned to moo like them.

Ava brushed a horse and went for a ride on a pony. Both kiddos fed the goats. Ava took a turn on the tire swing and played in the tree fort, while Julian took a turn on the horse swing.

We also saw chickens, llamas, rabbits, a turtle, ducks, a donkey,

a beautiful view,

and this pretty calf (my BSM).

It was a very fun afternoon. :)

Head on over to Mother May I to see what everyone else has in store for their Best Shot Monday posts.

Oh Amy! Those are great! My parents just took my kids to an event called “Farm Days” at our local university extension program. They got to see all kinds of farm animals! They thought it was the most fun EVER! It’s such a rewarding experience for our children – we are great parents :) :) :) LOL

Baby animals rule – not many things can make me happier than that. Except maybe chocolate. And ketchup.

Cute calf, but I like Julian’s expression with the horse. What a great experience for them.

(Had trouble with the pictures when I clicked on them.)

Great photos that capture a fun weekend. farms are so great for kids, aren’t they. Even I secretly enjoy them. Whenever we go to a farm, I am reminded of how my kids make me do stuff that I would never otherwise do – and I end up enjoying it!

How fun. I grew up in the country but live in the “big city” now. Nothing makes me feel better than taking the boys up to Youngstown Ohio to spend the time at their dairy farm. Those are memories they’ll have forever!

This is such a fabulous idea for helping kids connect with animals and I love that unlike a visit to the city zoo, it features local livestock and happens to be completely free. We’re planning a farm visit sometime soon!
