Happy birthday, Sesame Street!

  1. My daughter’s favorite is Abby Cadabby. She was even Abby for Halloween. I love Sesame Street too!

  2. I had a copier jam yesterday that was brought to me by the letter 5. No kidding, there was a plastic 5 in the machine. How it got there? Ask The Count!

  3. ha! I meant, the number 5 :)

  4. C is for cookie!!

I agree – it’s one programme that you can trust will be wholesome.

  5. I took both my daughters to see Sesame Street Live today. I had no idea it was the 40th birthday. I totally grew up on them too. They are simply timeless!

  6. I ,too, am so grateful to Sesame Street and happy that it was there back in 1975 when you born. I know it helped all three of you grow up to be readers, writers and smart kids (genetics and reading to you every night probably helped also). And I’m glad that Ava and Julian are able to benefit from it. Thanks to Jim Henson and may he rest in peace.

  7. I love Sesme Street. Funny story, I went on a rant with my sister in law, who teaches high school English about how I HATE that Elmo doesn’t use pronouns. I know that Elmo is supposed to be 3 and 3 year olds don’t use pronouns but I know several todddlers who refuse to use prouns because of Elmo. Anyway, she recently told me that her son who apparently heard my rant, pointed out one day that Elmo used “it” on Sesme Street and he used a pronoun. His mom was so proud that he correctly identified and used the term pronoun. So I guess in a round about way, I have to thank Elmo for that.
